Crown Point Schools — 2026 Referendum Tax Bill Impact

On November 3, 2026, voters within Crown Point Community School Corporation will consider an eight-year operating referendum that would replace the referendum approved by voters in 2025.

Since that referendum was approved, changes to Indiana property-tax law under Senate Enrolled Act 1 (SEA 1) have changed how property taxes are calculated and reduced the taxable assessed value used to generate local school funding. The proposed referendum has a maximum rate of $0.3870 per $100 of assessed value and would replace the current referendum rate of $0.1828.

Because of the new deductions, credits, and other changes to Indiana's property-tax system, looking at the referendum tax rate alone does not show the full effect on an individual property owner's tax bill.

This calculator estimates how the proposed referendum, if approved, would work together with the new 2027 property-tax deductions and credits using your property's actual tax information. You don't have to guess your assessed value, deductions, or current tax rate—the calculator uses official Lake County property-tax records to estimate the impact for your individual property.

The result allows you to compare your estimated 2027 property-tax bill with your 2026 tax bill and see how the statewide tax changes and the proposed referendum could affect your property.

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Begin typing the mailing address where you receive your tax bill in the search box below. As you type, matching address options will appear.
  2. Select your parcel from the list to view your property's estimated 2027 tax bill compared with 2026.

All figures are based on certified data from Lake County property-tax records and the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF). Actual future tax bills may vary based on changes in assessed value, tax rates, deductions, credits, and other factors.
